I painted this piece from a photo I had taken a few years ago during a very wet, stormy spring. The rain clouds and the constantly shifting sunshine made for the most incredible lighting and I took a lot of photos that day. Dry Creek is a "part-time" drainage into the town of Alpine, from the upper snowfields of Lone Peak, Pfeifferhorn, White Baldy, and Box Elder Peak. It fairly rages during spring runoff, and when all the snow is gone, it earns its name.
