Artist's Statement about this work: When I visited Southern Thailand several years ago, I visited an Elephant Sanctuary. I had the opportunity to feed and bathe this female. And I got to give her a hug! Wrapped my arms around her trunk, rested my chest against her trunk and felt her purr. It was a lovely experience.

At that time I thought perhaps the effects would be relatively short lived - as of today, May 8, 2020, it might be a long time before the sky is completely clear of storm clouds - but the sun is still shining through.
